Cooler Master Notepal X2
The Cooler Master Notepal X2 is relatively powerful, but very nice looking, laptop cooler. What is striking about the Cooler Master Notepal X2 is that it mixes it’s smart but hi-tech design with a surprisingly good ability to cool. Most of the ‘designer laptop coolers’ tend to have one too many plastic parts, cheep fans, or just a low cooling capacity because of their design. The Notepal X2 has an interior which more than lives up tot he powerful image of it’s exterior beauty.
While the Cooler Master Notepal X2 is not as powerful as laptop coolers such as the NZXT Cryo LX or the Zalman NC3000, it can more than handle a standard laptop up to 17 inches (widescreen) in size.
The Notepal X2 is an incredibly light laptop cooler. It manages this by using a plastic structure and a wire mesh frame. This gives a good balance between weight and cooling performance. The overall build quality is very good, when you are holding the Cooler Master Notepal X2 you feel as if you are holding some sturdy equipment.
Inside the Cooler Master Notepal X2 you will find a single quiet running 140mm fan. This keeps a fairly steady airflow to your laptop, although it is less than many of it’s competitors. While the cooling capacity is sufficient for most standard laptops, for those suffering from serious overheating problems, you may want to look for a more powerful laptop cooling solution.
The Notepal X2 carries some pretty standard laptop cooler additions. You get a fans speed wheel, an on/off switch, and a USB pass through port. One addition I do like is the ability to choose from two different height settings, a simple feature that is unfortunately lacking in most mainstream laptop coolers.
All in all the Notepal X2 looks great, it has adequate performance, and with a pretty low price tag you will not break the bank, but you will protect your laptop computer from heat damage and performance issues!
